The time has come. Game of Thrones Season 6 returns to HBO tonight at 9 p.m. For those of us without a cable subscription, this means we’re going to be camping out at a friends house or finding a place to stream by any means necessary.
If you’re looking for a guilt-free way to watch, HBO is giving you an out. This won’t be the case for the remainder of the season, but HBO will be streaming the first episode for free. HBO is currently allowing free access to its streaming service, HBO Now. There’s no cable subscription login required because HBO Now is a standalone service.
HBO Go is the second option, although you’ll need to verify your cable subscriber. Unlike HBO Now, HBO Go is a service bundled with your TV package. If you plan on watching Game of Thrones Season 6 in its entirety without a cable subscription, it may be worth forking up the $15 monthly fee until the end of June.
