Marvel may have dominated comic book film discussion for the past several years, but DC is making some power moves with the arrival of some blockbuster titles. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Wonder Woman and Suicide Squad will all premiere over the next two years, and DC is taking the time to preview the highly anticipated features with a pair of television specials on The CW.

DC‘s Legends of Tomorrow: Their Time is Now will kick things off Tuesday night (Jan. 19) from 9:00-9:30pm ET, followed by DC Films Presents: Dawn of the Justice League from 9:30 -10:00pm ET. The two specials will explore two expanding sides of the DC Comics universe – television and movies – with exclusive new footage, interviews and the world premiere of a new Suicide Squad trailer. The icing on the cake: Kevin Smith, a huge fan of comic books, will host Dawn of the Justice League alongside special guest Geoff Johns – the CCO of DC Comics.

DC Comics CW Special: What to Expect

Their Time is Now will dive into the origin stories of heroes and villains featured on The CW’s new series, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, which premieres two days later on Thursday, Jan. 21 at 8:00pm ET. Through clips and interviews, numerous characters will be introduced by Arrow and The Flash executive producers Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, Andrew Kreisberg, Phil Klemmer, and Wendy Mericle. Be sure to watch out for Vandal Savage, Rip Hunter, Hawkman, Hawkgirl, White Canary, The Atom, Firestorm, Captain Cold, and Heat Wave.

Switching over to the cinematic universe, Dawn of the Justice League will showcase new clips from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, a sneak peek from the upcoming Wonder Woman feature film, and a brand new Suicide Squad trailer. Expect to see A-list Hollywood stars like Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot and Jared Leto feature throughout the special.
