Ubisoft is giving PC and console gamers another chance to try Steep, the open-world winter extreme sports game that debuted late last year, without having to spend a dime. We’re not sure how effective the free-to-play period will be, thanks to the glut of high profile releases fighting for attention this month, but here’s what we know about Steep ’s next free weekend event.

According to Ubisoft, Steep will be made available to Xbox One owners at 8:01 a.m. (no word on time zone) on Friday, March 10. PS4 and PC owners have to wait until 6 p.m. Everyone will have access to the full game, including online multiplayer and the recently added Alaska DLC, until Monday. Xbox One owners will lose access to Steep at 7:59 a.m. on March 13. PS4 and PC owners will be kicked out at 6 p.m. that night. Sadly, there’s no word on pre-loading, so there’s a good chance you’ll have to spend some portion of the weekend downloading Steep .

Obviously, the goal of these sorts of events is to drive up sales of the game. Players can expect to see heavy discounts on Steep this weekend, regardless of which platform they prefer. Xbox One owners will be able to buy the standard version of the game at a 50 percent discount. Both the standard and Gold editions of the of Steep will also be 44 percent off on PSN and both versions will be 50 percent off on Steam. And all of those discounts will remain until March 15.

If you’d like a sneak peek of all the Steep content that will be available this weekend, take a minute to watch the trailer celebrating the weekend-long event. Then hit the comments section and let us know if you’re planning to take part in Steep ’s free weekend.

Steep is currently available on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The game’s upcoming free weekend begins Friday, March 10.
