It’s been pretty quiet on the Star Wars: Rogue One front for awhile. Episode 8, despite its later release date, has dominated much of the Star Wars discussion over the past few weeks, but there’s no forgetting that Rogue One is on the way. It is now April, which means that the first Star Wars spin-off film (due in December) should be debuting its first trailer any day now. Until then, we’ll have to rely on rumors - but as usual, we draw them from a fairly reliable source.

The fan site Making Star Wars has posted the name of one of the top billed characters in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The character is played by Diego Luna (Y Tu Mamá También, The Terminal) and we know that he is part of a band of Rebel fighters attempting to steal the plans for the Death Star. A source close to Rogue One revealed the identity of Luna’s character to MSW:

“If the rumor I have heard is true, Diego Luna is playing Cassein Willix.”

The report even goes on to describe a specific scene, which involves Luna’s character and the protagonist of Rogue One, played by Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything, Like Crazy):

“In the film “Jyn” dresses up as a Imperial Gunner. “Cassein” doesn’t; instead he goes for a higher commanding station and dresses up as an Imperial Commander.”

It’s hard to be certain without context, but could this scene take place during the Rebels daring Death Star heist? Perhaps we’ll get a clue once the Rogue One trailer drops which, seriously (and hopefully), should happen very soon.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story arrives in theaters Dec. 16.
