The full title for Star Wars: Episode 8 has leaked! That is, if you believe a video that purports to show a packed hall of onlookers scoping out a poster accidentally set up far in advance of the official title unveiling at Star Wars Celebration Europe.

Emblazoned with the subtitle Fall of the Resistance, the Star Wars: Episode 8 poster is a convincing recreation, but the narrative behind the leak doesn’t really fit facts. Star Wars Celebration Europe is booked for London’s ExCel Exhibition Center July 15-17, which means Lucasfilm accidentally set out this poster two months early. The early set-up is likely to come as a surprise to London Comic Con and the dozens of other exhibitions scheduled to fill the halls before Star Wars Celebration.

Here’s the video, so you can watch a lie in action:

But just as soon as one hoax is uncovered, a new one pops up to take its place. In a Reddit post titled “That title leak is fake, guys,” an anonymous, since deleted account writes, “Fall of the Resistance is not the real title, however it has similarities. The real title is The Fallen Knights. No “source" from me, sorry. You’ll just have to take my word for it.”

If we’re going to have endless phony leaks from attention-seekers, I vastly prefer the ones that don’t try too hard at hoaxing us. And who knows, maybe we’ll be sitting down in theaters to Star Wars: Episode 8 The Fallen Knights come Dec. 14, 2017.
