Star Wars Battlefront 2 will get its first round of free DLC throughout December, and it’s got some heavy star power behind it. The Last Jedi’s John Boyega officially confirmed via Twitter Tuesday morning that he’ll be on hand to voice his character, Finn, in the controversial game.

“I can’t believe I’m about to be a playable character in a damn game,” he wrote to his million-strong followers, adding “Voiced Finn in this too so enjoy.”

Considering Boyega has essentially been a marketing partner with EA throughout Battlefront 2’s development process, his vocal involvement in the game isn’t all that surprising. Boyega famously tweeted his thoughts on the lack of a single-player campaign in 2015’s Battlefront, and has since worked on trailers and made appearances to promote the sequel at conventions like Disney’s D23. His confirmation arrives alongside a tweet teasing Finn’s addition to Battlefront 2 on Dec. 13.

Finn’s debut in the multiplayer suite marks the true start of what EA has called The Last Jedi season of its latest shooter. The fun begins Dec. 5, when players must choose to fight with the Order or Resistance to unlock exclusive challenges. One week later, Finn will join super-trooper Captain Phasma on the hero roster, and both characters will be purchasable with in-game credits. Campaign DLC will also add three chapters of additional context to the offline story’s very open conclusion.

This character-based DLC will be supplemented by new multiplayer and Starfighter Assault maps based on the planet of Crait. Unique ships and abilities from The Last Jedi movie will keep you in tune with the latest happenings in the galaxy far, far away. As if that wasn’t enough, a series of mode-specific challenges will hopefully make the current loot grind a bit less bothersome.

If the controversy about microtransactions and loot boxes can possibly be overlooked, this is pretty exciting news for fans of Battlefront 2. Getting real Hollywood talent to voice popular heroes is something only official licensing can allow, and it’s awesome to see those steps being taken. It’s also pretty hard to ignore the sheer amount of content arriving next month alone.

The true test of might for this game’s future, however, will likely be just how much EA and DICE are able to rework Battlefront 2’s shackled and confusing progression system. If those problems can’t be fixed in the right ways, there may be a much smaller audience to tap into. After peaking at a disappointing number 2 in the U.K. sales charts during its opening week, inevitable declines have since pushed the game to number 4.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is available now on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
