Star Wars Battlefront 2 will begin beta testing on Oct. 4, but leaks on the game’s official subreddit may have revealed the pre-release content early. A known leaker by the name of Some_info has posted a supposed full summary of what players can expect. Here’s a rundown of the information:

  • Maps & Modes: Galactic Assault On Theed (40 players), Space Battles On Fondor (24 players), Strike On Takodana, a renamed Skirmish with single-player and split-screen co-op.
  • Heroes List: Will replicate EA Play demo. (Boba Fett, Captain Phasma, Darth Maul, Han Solo, Kylo Ren, Rey, Luke Skywalker, Yoda etc.)
  • Platforms: PS4, Xbox One, PC
  • Size: 14-16 GB
  • Surprise Vehicle: Low Altitude Assault Transport (LAAT) that will patrol similar to the U-Wing on the original Battlefront’s Scariff DLC
  • Emotes: 5-9 for troops, but they may not work for Heroes.
  • Progression: You will earn credits and collect Star Cards that will be lost once the beta ends.
  • Graphics: Visuals will be slightly improved over the E3 build.

For those who missed EA’s official memo on the subject of betas, the publisher revealed in July that a beta will begin Oct. 4 for pre-order customers and will be open to all by Oct. 6. The test period ends Oct. 9. At that time, only the Assault On Theed was mentioned as playable content.

In addition to the above modes of play, players will also be able to experiment with the game’s quad-tier class system. The assault class makes up classic infantry, heavy troopers carry heavy weapons, officers offer support and specialists snipe from a distance. The chosen role will impact which abilities are available to players at any given time.

As with any leak, however, the content listed above should be viewed with some skepticism. While Some_info has gained plenty of positive favor around the Battlefront 2 community for correct leaks in the past, this one may not be accurate. Also, considering the beta is still a month away, what’s accurate today might not be accurate in October.

All things considered, however, this alleged beta suite makes a lot of sense to us. By including the Assault On Theed as well as space battles, EA and DICE are essentially combining the game’s E3 and Gamescom demos into a single package. There’s certainly a lot here to play, but by offering a substantial beta, EA might be trying to truly push the idea that this sequel has a lot more content than its slightly barren predecessor. Plus, it doesn’t hurt that convention demos are generally prime real estate for betas too. Whether real or fake, we could see a portion of this list being right.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 releases Nov. 17 for PS4, Xbox One and PC. The beta begins Oct. 4 for pre-order customers.
