‘Splatoon 2’ Single-Player Mode Revealed In New Trailer

At the end of the Arms -focused Nintendo Direct, a brand new trailer for Splatoon 2 was released that showcased the upcoming single-player mode and hints at what the story may bring.

The new Splatoon 2 trailer shows your character walking around when they see Marie, one of the Squid Sisters from the first Splatoon game. This is where she tells you that her sister, Callie has gone missing and the growing threat looming.

Along with the quick peek at the single-player mode for Splatoon 2, the new trailer also showed some of the different stages and bosses you’ll have to overcome in the story.

Players will be able to move large objects, pick off enemies and even ride along an ink slide using your many weapons. We also get to see some of the aforementioned bosses that you’ll be up against including a giant fish with small legs on a unicycle and an evil looking version of one of the Squid Sisters.

There’s a lot to look forward to in Splatoon 2 ’s single-player mode including getting to use all of the classic weapons and the brand new Dualies.

Here’s a synopsis of the Splatoon 2 single-player mode from an official Nintendo press release.

“In a shocking twist, Callie – of Squid Sisters fame – has gone missing and her right-tentacle squid Marie tasks the player to search for Callie and the Great Zapfish. Players can use different weapons in single-player mode to overcome obstacles, defeat enemies and take down towering bosses – weapons like the Roller, Slosher, Splatling or the new Dualies. The single-player mode is designed to teach players tips and tricks that they can then use in multiplayer. For more on the Squid Sisters, check out the Squid Sisters Stories here.”

Splatoon 2 will release for the Nintendo Switch on July 21.
