When Stan Lee and Steve Ditko first created Spider-Man, he had web wings. Tobey Maguire didn’t have them for his version of Peter Parker in 2002’s Spider-Man, and neither did Andrew Garfield’s version in The Amazing Spider-Man. Thanks to Tony Stark, Tom Holland is bringing web wings back for Sony’s third try at the character in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Web wings aren’t the only spidey-suit upgrade Tony Stark has in store for the latest iteration of Peter Parker. In a tweet from the official Spider-Man: Homecoming account, Sony released a video showcasing four new features of Peter’s suit. If you remember the Captain America: Civil War post-credits scene, we already saw one new feature included on Peter’s new web shooter: the Spider-Signal.

-Upgraded Web Shooter with selectable web types and a laser targeting system.

-Web wings for smoother gliding.

-A GPS tracking system with holographic wrist display.

-More expressive eyes.

While the past cinematic Spider-Mans didn’t have any of these features, they also haven’t fought with the Avengers, let alone had Tony Stark as a mentor at the age of 16. Instead, Garfield and Maguire’s versions of the character used scientific prowess to sew and design their own costumes.

Peter’s upgraded spidey suit is likely one of many differences between Holland’s Spider-Man and the previous iterations. I’m game for anything that doesn’t result in yet another franchise reboot.

Spider-Man: Homecoming arrives in theaters July 7, 2017.
