After almost three years, EA is ready to release The Sims 4 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. While the rest of the world will have to wait until November, attendees of this year’s gamescom in Cologne, Germany will have a chance to play early. While there is bound to be a handful of written first impressions, SimGuruDrake broke the news on Twitter that players and press will not be able to record any gameplay footage.

“Ppl will get hands on with it on the show floor and our business lounge but there is no content capture happening for it,” the Global Community Manager for Maxis tweeted before adding, “There will be gameplay footage at a later date ”

When a fan asked about photos at the event, SimGuruDrake said she does not know, but assumes probably not.

“As far as I am aware they won’t be able to take photos of screens on the show floor or business lounge,” she said. “But I’m not attending gamescom so I can’t say whether the decision on photos is final or not.”

SimGuruDrake left fans with a reassurement that there will be plenty of footage released before the PS4 and Xbox One versions hit stores in November. In fact, EA just released the first teaser video for the console release today. Check it out below.

“We will be showing gameplay well before release so don’t worry too much. There’s plenty of time.”

If you pre-order The Sims 4 base game, you’ll receive the Perfect Patio Stuff pack for free, featuring hot tubs, patio bars and a range of new clothing styles as well as one premade outdoor patio. If you order The Sims 4 Deluxe Party Edition today, you receive access to the full game three days early on Nov. 14. Also, EA Access members will be able to play The Sims 4 on console five days before the game’s official worldwide launch, beginning on Nov. 9, by using EA’s Play First Trial (part of Origin Access, a paid service that runs about $5/month or $30/year).
