There’s a lot of Sims 4 mods out there but none like the latest batch from TwistedMexi. These terrain tools and objects can add some serious depth to your lot. Exposed basement windows, mounds (hills), pits and more can all be used to create uneven terrain. There are 72 objects total. After downloading, find them in Outdoor Plants>Shrubs.

TwistedMexi clarifies in a reddit post that this pack is not a fully functioning terrain tool, rather, it’s a set of objects that give the illusion of terrain modification. There’s no terrain tools in The Sims 4 and it doesn’t look like there will be for the foreseeable future; this is as good as it gets.

“I'm sure I'm not the only one out there who has a house set on uneven terrain. I felt that even if we couldn't have full fledged terrain tools, we deserved something to break up the dull 2D nature of the Sims 4 worlds. This object pack offers near infinite combinations for terrain, albeit with a bit of creativity,” TwistedMexi writes.

It’s worth noting Sims cannot walk on the uneven terrain, but outdoor decorations can intersect (though they will stay on ground level.) Also, you’ll want to enable the bb.moveobjects cheat in order to arrange the objects more efficiently. Control [or Command] + Shift + C to access the cheat console. Make sure you type testingcheats true first. Use 9 and 0 to move objects up and down.

If you are unfamiliar with mods in the Sims 4, the process is quite easy but may take some practice to use swiftly in the future. You’ll need to access the Mods folder and copy the downloaded mod files into that folder. First find the Documents folder, then Electronic Arts folder, then Sims 4 folder. If there is no Mods folder inside Sims 4 , create one yourself. If you plan on using a lot of Mods, it’s worth organizing them now. Create a folder inside the Mods folder labeled Terrain Tools. You can even rename the mod file without corrupting it as long as .package file type remains intact.

Next, turn Mods on in the game itself. The switch is located in Options>Other>Enable Custom Content and Mods. May as well enable Script Mods too. Remember Script Mods (.pyo) require the entire zip folder, not unzipped.
