The Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas brings gadget makers under one roof. Amongst all the smartphones, cameras and everything in between, one company is offering consumers a place to seamlessly store it all.

Idaho-based clothing company Scottevest has specialized in garments with specialized pockets but at CES 2016, it debuted a new product: the Enforcer jacket. In addition to its functionality as a jacket, this product can hold a laptop or Surface Pro in the covert inner pockets.

“Everything about this is designed to accommodate the things you want to carry,” Scott Jordan, the CEO and founder of Scottevest, told iDigitalTimes. “We really engineer clothing to accommodate these things. It changes the way you think about clothing.”

Jordan released his first product (a vest) 15 years ago out of frustration for having to carry his gadgets around. Since the launch of his company’s freshman product, the company has evolved with the changing technology landscape to create apparel that stores gadgets and personal items.

The entire line is sleek and cleverly hides 42 pockets. Over the past 15 years, Jordan has perfected weight distribution in his line and has even consulted a chiropractor to ensure the weight of the stored gadgets do not impact the wearer.

“The very first version I made, the eVest 1.0, I didn’t recognize the importance of the weight management issues,” said Jordan. “All the weight landed on the back of your neck. Since then, I have a chiropractor involved for the engineering of the weight.”

The functionality behind this line goes beyond wearing something that can house all your gadgets. It is a product that can help travelers store their valuables with reduced risk of being pick pocketed or a fitness junkie to carry their gadgets while they are working out.

Technology is constantly changing — Apple, for example, launches new models and products each year — but the ScotteVest line is meant to be evergreen so users do not need a new wardrobe every time they upgrade their gadgets.

“We want our stuff to be timeless,” said Jordan. “So when you buy something from Scottevest, most of the styles could be around for years. We are not really just selling fashion, but the functionality that comes with it.”

In addition to the jacket, the company showcased two new Cardigan models at CES 2016.
