Despite wallowing in nostalgic Star Wars waters — the years before the original Star Wars , complete with Darth Vader, the Death Star and the Rebel base on Yavin 4 — Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is an experiment of sorts. Will Star Wars audiences used to the ongoing continuity of R2-D2 and C-3PO, Luke, Leia, and Han come out for a whole new cast of characters? And if it’s not part of the ongoing “Skywalker family saga,” as Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy calls the Episode series, will it open on the signature title crawl?

Well, now we have an answer, albeit from an anonymous source. According to Star Wars News Net, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will have something new and different instead of a title crawl.

Who knows what that means, but past hints from Kennedy and Rogue One director Gareth Edwards suggest they’ve been considering the best way to open the new A Star Wars Story side series for a while.

Whatever they come up with will front Rogue One: A Star Wars Story when it hits theaters on Dec. 15.
