In a Q&A with French television channel TF1 Rogue One: A Star Wars Story director Gareth Edwards dodged questions about cameos from Star Wars Original Trilogy cast members in such a way as to suggest that a young Princess Leia might make a brief appearance in the upcoming film. Backed into a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ corner, Edwards said Rogue One would have no Luke Skywalker, but then switched to “I don’t want to ruin it for people” right in time for Donald Trump and Princess Leia.

So, no, the evidentiary standard here is not high.

Still, Making Star Wars claims several other bits of corroborating evidence, including an unnamed source at Pinewood Studios and future Rogue One product listings with Princess Leia included. And it would certainly make sense narratively, since Rogue One: A Star Wars Story ends right where Star Wars begins, with Princess Leia smuggling the Death Star plans aboard the Tantive IV, under pursuit by Darth Vader.

Should Leia Organa appear in Rogue One, she’ll be joining other returning cast members, including Darth Vader, Grand Moff Tarkin, Mon Mothma and Leia’s adoptive father, Bail Organa.

But Making Star Wars claims to have heard rumors of even more cameos, including characters from the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy. “We’ve already heard of some other potential Phantom Menace characters showing up in this movie,” Amanda Ward writes, “If that pans out, it’s going to break the Internet.”

What Phantom Menace character would break the internet upon appearing in Rogue One? Would any of us freak for Watto? Would they really risk super Sith confusion by tossing Darth Maul back into the mix?

Or will we witness Jar Jar Binks getting hauled off to the Spice mines of Kessel in chains when Rogue One: A Star Wars Story comes out in theaters Dec. 15?
