Extra snagged an interview with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story director Gareth Edwards and finally settled one of the most frequent (and plausible!) rumors about the cast and plot of the next Star Wars film.

While Star Wars Celebration Europe saw the official confirmation of Darth Vader’s appearance in Rogue One (not to mention an astounding reel of footage from the film, above), not much was said about the recent casting of Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo. Ehrenreich is currently signed on for three Han Solo movies, suggesting a separate, A Star Wars Story trilogy of young Han Solo films.

It was widely assumed that the intensive and lengthy casting process Disney undertook for Han Solo over the past year was done just in time to have the loveable rogue make a brief appearance in Rogue One, perhaps stacking some crates in the background or chugging some Phibian beer at a cantina.

Nope. Here’s Edwards stating definitively that Han Solo will not appear in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

It’s okay, we still get Darth Vader. Rogue One hits theaters Dec. 16.
