The Rainbow Six Siege 2.1.1 update finally arrived today. Not only does the new July 11 patch deliver critical fixes to gamebreaking glitches, but Ubisoft has introduced new elements to the game as well.

First, let's talk about the major patches. The 2.1.1 patch addresses a bunch of issues with Hibana's X-KAIROS breaching pellet launcher. In the past, players reported the pellet spray sometimes appeared too concentrated when shot between two reinforced walls. When two six-packs are fired in succession, the array sometimes ignited prematurely. Finally, some players also reported pellets are still stuck on the reinforced wall after detonation. With the latest update, Ubisoft expects most X-KAIROS issues are a thing of the past.

Other fixes in this update are in response to reports of excess spawn killing at the start of rounds, namely at Kanal. To minimalize spawn killing as much as possible, the team at Ubisoft made several modifications to the map, including new cover for attackers in the form of a concrete slab next to the crane.

Lastly, breakable walls at Coastline sometimes do not react to destruction properly. The team rebuilt the walls in this map to fix the issue.

With the fixes out of the way, let's get to the fun stuff. Rainbow Six Siege is introducing Alpha Packs, which give players a chance to receive free cosmetic enhancements for their favorite operators, including Black Ice skisn as well as Legendary tier eitems. That said, Ubisoft will stagger the introduction of Alpha Packs across platforms, so don't expect it enjoy new loot immediately.

The Rainbow Six Siege 2.1.1 update is available now on PC, Xbox and PS4. The next major Rainbow Six seasonal update will be Hong Kong in August, while South Korea will close out 2017 Season 4. Stay tuned as we hope to learn more about upcoming Siege updates in the months ahead.
