We finally have a more specific release date and details that give us a few hints as to how Michael Scofield returns from the dead. CAUTION: Prison Break Season 5 spoilers!

According to The Parent Herald , Michael Scofield suffered from memory loss at the start of Season 5, but will regain it eventually. Even though the Prison Break Season 4 finale made it pretty clear Michael died, the latest amnesia theory could explain that he doesn’t remember Sara, Lincoln, or his son, and therefore had no way of finding them. This could explain why Sara and Lincoln believed him to be dead for years and each moved on with their lives.

The Silver Times reports that Michael and Sara’s son will play an integral part in helping him remember again, but it’s not clear when or how the two reunite. Michael's son is described as “a very cool and much more perceptive than one might suggest in his age.” If the rumors prove to be true, Michael’s son may be the one who discovers his father is alive and in prison. Fox has reportedly finished casting the older son’s role, but hasn’t announced the actor yet. What’s more, rumors a l s o suggest Sara will tragically die at the end of Season 5.

As you already know, Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell, Sarah Wayne Callies are set to reprise their roles as Michael Scofield, Lincoln Burrows, and Dr. Sara Tancredi. Dreams came true when IGN confirmed that not only Robert Knepper (T-Bag), but Rockmond Dunbar (C-Note), and Amaury Nolasco (Sucre) would also join the original cast for Season 5. Deadline got the scoop on some of Prison Break’s new cast members last week.

Inbar Lavi (The Last Ship, Gang Related), Marina Benedict (Flesh & Bone, Torchwood) and Kunal Sharma (Miss India America, The Kids Are Alright) have each been cast in a recurring role.

“Lavi will play Sheba, a beautiful and smart operator/fixer/activist who becomes involved with Lincoln. Benedict is A&W, a crazed villainess who is unconcerned about her physical well-being but efficient in completing her deadly goals. Sharma will play Sid, who’s artsy, wired– and in prison. His offense, despite what his docket says, is solely being gay.”

Congressman Paul Kellerman (Paul Adelstein) is also returning. Rick Yune ( Marco Polo, Fast & Furious ) will join the cast as Ja, “a Korean identity thief whose disheveled appearance belies his genius.” August Prew ( Kick-Ass 2 ) will play Whip, “who is funny, crazy, and pretty damn sharp.” Australian actor Steve Mouzakis ( I, Frankenstein ) is cast as Van Gogh, “a bad-ass nut-job.” Amin El Gamal ( The Newsroom, Shameless ) will play a “heavily recurring role” as Cyclops. Mark Feuerstein ( Royal Pains) is Sarah’s new husband, Scott Ness.

Deadline's Nellie Andreeva also reported that she heard “Fernando, C-Note, Lincoln, and Sara go on a mission to rescue Michael from Yemen where he is imprisoned after faking his death”

The Prison Break reboot takes place 5 years after Michael 'died' of brain cancer. Sara found a new husband (Mark Feuerstein) to start a life with and take care of Michael’s baby. However, she learns that Michael may not be dead and pairs with Lincoln to plan “the biggest escape ever.” According to Fox CEO Dana Walden, the reboot takes place in an international landscape. Series creator Paul Scheuring is on board.

The revival will see 9-episodes and begins shooting in Vancouver, Canada in April. Even though filming hasn’t even started yet, the buzz predicts the series will air a few months earlier than expected, in Sept. 2016.
