The next playable fighter in Pokken Tournament has been revealed on an episode of NicoNico, and it’s the legendary Pokemon, Darkrai.

After its tease, a massive update is coming to Japanese arcades on July 20 that includes Darkrai, Garchomp, Braixen and Shadow Mewtwo; characters that were included when the Wii U version was released.

Check out the official Darkrai in Pokken Tournament reveal trailer below.

The new trailer confirms that most of the Wii U stages will be making its way to the arcade versions while a new mode is introduced called Mission Panel. In this mode, when you achieve certain mission objectives within a period of time you’ll unlock various boosts and updates.

Also, a lot of new clothing items have been added to the arcade version.

The Dark-Type Pokemon joins Suicune and Mewtwo as the only Legendaries in Pokken Tournament. According to Serebii, Darkrai will be part of the Technique class of fighters.

From the gameplay footage, Darkai can make copies of itself and when he uses his ranged attacks the copies will join in. But Darkrai can also get in really close, so don’t underestimate the Legendary Pokemon.

Darkrai comes to Japanese arcades July 20 but a Wii U release should follow shortly after. We will update as soon as we learn a release date for the next playable Pokken Tournament character.
