Aegislash readying its burst attack in Pokken Tournament DX Nintendo

The addition of Aegislash to the Pokken Tournament DX roster was one of the surprising reveals during the January Mini Nintendo Direct. Now the update that brings the Steel and Ghost-type Pokémon to the fighting game is released.

Details on Pokken Tournament DX version 1.2 are pretty scarce. The official Nintendo site only documents the inclusion of Battle Pack Wave 1 (which includes Aegislash) and the addition of video capture.

Here’s the brief patch notes from Nintendo.

  • Pokkén Tournament DX Battle Pack Wave 1 compatibility has been added.
  • Video capture compatibility added. Hold the Capture Button to capture up to 30 seconds of the previous footage.
    • The system must be updated to Ver 4.0.0 or higher to use this feature.

Players looking for more substantial patch notes, including character balance and the assist Pokémon, can check out Nintendo Everything ’s list of known changes, which is still being compiled.

Some of the incoming changes include an increased recovery time for Lucario’s Bone Rush Upper (when in a burst) and a charged version of Weavile’s Fake Out attack. There are a ton of bug fixes as well; Pikachu’s Iron Tail attack wouldn’t come out during a burst and Braixen’s burst attack wouldn’t transition into the cinematic on a hit. There’s also plenty of roster changes in Pokken Tournament DX version 1.2, and there are likely more to be discovered as players put more time into it. Aegislash is the first new DLC character and Blastoise will join the fight at a later date.S

Pokken Tournament DX is available now for Nintendo Switch. Battle Pack Wave 1 is available to purchase now.
