One of the last distributions for Pokémon before Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are released in November is the Ghost and Fighting-type, Marshadow.

A lot has been made of Marshadow in Pokémon Sun and Moon already, including its attacks and where it fits in the scope of the Pokémon universe, especially in the Alola Region. Here’s a short trailer that shows off Marshadow’s power, signature Z-move and summarizes all the Pokémon’s information.

It’s no surprise that Marshadow’s distribution comes right before the Pokémon 20th Anniversary movie’s release in theaters (a film that will feature Marshadow). And it’s also no suprise trainers will have to make their way to GameStop if they want to have their own Marshadow. The Pokémon Company has done GameStop code distributions in the past and the method to redeem the code hasn’t changed, but in case you’re not aware, here’s how to download Marshadow onto Pokémon Sun or Moon.

To get Marshadow in your Pokémon Sun or Pokémon Moon game:

  1. Select Mystery Gift on the main menu.

  2. Select Receive Gift.

  3. Select Get with Code/Password, then Yes, and then Yes again to connect to the internet.

  4. Enter your password.

  5. Watch as you receive Marshadow.

  6. Speak to the delivery person in any Pokémon Center to pick up Marshadow.

  7. Be sure to save your game!

The Marshadow GameStop distribution starts Oct. 9 until the 23rd so be sure to pick up a code before it’s too late. It’s also not clear when the codes will expire so be sure to redeem the Pokémon as soon as possible.

Trainers can also soft reset their Sun or Moon game to get the Nature and IVs they want for Marshadow. We suggest looking for an Adamant or Jolly nature Marshadow with max IVs in at least Attack and Speed.

Pokémon Sun and Moon is available now for Nintendo 3DS. Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon will release Nov. 23.
