Now that Pokémon Sun and Moon has been out for two weeks, trainers will want to start building their competitive teams by breeding Pokémon with the perfect IVs, Natures and moves.

However, EV Training is still very important to raising the strongest Pokémon and the process has changed in Sun and Moon. We’ve covered how to EV train in Sun and Moon using the SOS Calls and Poke Pelago, but what if you decide you want to reset your Pokémon’s effort values?

In Pokémon X and Y and ORAS the Super Training mode easily let trainers reset their Pokémon’s EVs by using the Reset Bag. But with Super Training gone in Sun and Moon, there’s another method to starting over but it’s more time-consuming.

Resetting EVs in Pokémon Sun and Moon is done by feeding your Pokémon berries. There are certain berries found throughout Alola that will reduce a base stat by 10. Continue feeding the berry to your Pokémon until their EV stat goes back to zero.

You can check your Pokémon’s EV by going to its Summary and pressing Y.

These special berries are not readily available so you’ll need to visit the Poke Pelago and build the Berry Tree island. You can plant these special berries on the island and collect them when they are ready to pick. This will give a trainer a steady surplus of berries.

Here are the list of berries that affect a Pokémon’s EVs with their location below.

HP - Pomeg Berry (Route 10)

ATTACK - Kelpsy Berry (Route 10)

DEFENSE - Qualot Berry (Route 10)

SPECIAL ATTACK - Hondew Berry (Route 10)
SPECIAL DEFENSE - Grepa Berry (Route 10)

SPEED - Tomato Berry (Route 10, Royal Avenue)
