At the Nintendo E3 2016 Treehouse Event, we got some more information on Pokemon Sun and Moon including new Pokemon including new Pokemon and the new Battle Royale battle mode.

Yungoos, which looks like a Pokemon based on a mongoose, was shown in the wild during a live gameplay demo of Sun and Moon. It’s a normal type with the abilities Stake Out and Strong Jaw. PikiPek is a Normal and Flying-type with two evolutions (like many regional birds) and has the abilities Keen Eye and Skill Link.

Junichi Masuda and Shigeru Ohmori were in attendance for the Pokemon Sun and Moon presentation and gave some insight on what the Alola Region has to offer. They said that the Alola Region is made of four islands and one man-made island but there’s a force that allows for all different types of environments to coexist.

The legendaries, Solgaleo and Lunala are the emissaries of the Sun and Moon. They play a unique role in the story that we’ve never done in a Pokemon game before.

But with the actual Sun and Moon gameplay, we can see how the animation shown in previous trailers.

The animation and the way they look is different: we changed the proportions to be more realistic to immerse the players. They were asked about the bracelets that are in promotional material but the team could not talk about it right now.

Dimensions and proportions are shown really well. Pokemon like Meowth are really small compared to your trainer. And when you walk into the grass, it looks like you’re going through the grass instead of walking over it. The walking similar to X and Y but the camera work is better.

Ledyba was shown as one of the Wild Pokemon, it is number 20 in the Alola Pokedex.

The trainer is always present in battle and the UI is different. It will show you what attacks are effective and not effective against an opponent.

When a trainer who is ready to battle is nearby, the screen will shrink slightly to increase tension.

Caterpie is also likely to be caught in Sun and Moon as it was one of the Pokemon of the first trainers you fight.

We also learned that Popplio learns Disarming Voice, a Fairy-type attack.

So what do you think of the new Battle Royale mode and the new Pokemon? Sound off in the comments section below.
