Following the leak of September’s CoroCoro that revealed Lugarugan, the evolution of Rockruff, and new Ultra Beasts more Pokémon Sun And Moon scans -- via Serebii -- from that issue have popped up and gave more information on the new Pokémon.

The first page shows off Lugarugan’s Midday Form and a brand new move called Accel Rock, which is a Rock-type priority move, while Lugarugan’s Midnight Form learns the move Counter.

But possibly the biggest news from the new Pokémon Sun and Moon CoroCoro pages is how the magazine has implied that the new Pokémon forms are version exclusives. Lugarugan’s Midday Form will be obtained in Pokémon Sun and the Midnight Form in Pokémon Moon.

However, there are conflicting reports on whether this is the case. Some are saying it’s definitely a version exclusive feature while Serebii and others are hesitant to make the claim.

Mistranslation is a common problem so it’s difficult to be sure one way or the other but here’s Serebii’s webmaster, Joe Merrick on the subject.

When CoroCoro first leaked it seemed that Rockruff’s evolution depended on the time of day, like Espeon and Umbreon. With Sun and Moon being 12 hours apart, this tidbit can really nail how the day/night cycle will play a big role in the Gen 7 games.

The next batch of Pokémon Sun and Moon news is coming Sept. 14 so we may get clarification on Lugarugan then.

In the meantime, let us know if you want Lugarugan to be a version exclusive evolution or would you prefer it be dependent on the day/night cycle in the comments section below.
