The Pokémon Company released a new trailer introducing the world to four new Pokémon, in addition to the formal introductions of the two previously leaked in CoroCoro. With the new trailer, there’s a lot of information from the official Pokémon site and even more for those who dig deeper into what was shown.

We’ve compiled some information that you may have missed during the new Pokémon Sun and Moon trailer with what it could possibly mean for the new Pokémon games come this November.

Mimikyu’s Disguise Ability

Mimikyu was first revealed in the July issue of CoroCoro, along with its Disguise ability, but it wasn’t clear what it actually did. But with the official reveal in the new trailer, the Pokémon website has the information.

According to the Pokémon website, Mimikyu’s Disguise ability “allows it to escape damage from an enemy’s attack just one time, and then its appearance changes.”

In simpler terms, Disguise essentially gives Mimikyu a free substitution, allowing for it to set up when needed.

There are still a lot of questions regarding Disguise, like whether Mimikyu can use the ability to null a status effect like Toxic. Either way, if Mimikyu can render its opponent’s first attack useless, it opens up a lot of possibilities for the Ghost and Fairy-type.

Mudsdale Has A New Attack?

Mudsdale is a brand new Ground-type Pokémon, and while its new Stamina ability may be the focus of discussion surrounding this Pokémon, if you look closely at the video it seems that Mudsdale is using a brand new attack never before seen.

Mudsdale is squaring off against the Steel and Electric-type, Togedemaru, when it kicks its rear legs for super effective damage.

Battle animations in Sun and Moon look different than in previous generations, and Mudsdale’s kick could be a Fighting-type move like Low Kick, but we’d like to think that this new stomping attack is Mudsdale’s signature Ground-type attack.

Wimp Out May Not Be So Wimpy

Wimpod is a new Bug and Water-type Pokémon with the new Wimp Out ability.

According to the Pokémon website , Wimp Out will allow Wimpod to run away or swap out for another Pokémon when its HP drops below half in battle.

This may not seem spectacular, but if done right, this new ability could be big in competitive battling.

If your Wimpod can go first against an opponent you want to switch out of, you can use the Wimp Out ability to have a free switch in. Of course, the usefulness of the ability hinges on whether you can choose who you switch into, but it’ll be interesting to see how players will utilize this ability.

Hyper Training/EV Training

Perhaps the biggest news from the latest Sun and Moon trailer was the introduction of a new feature: Hyper Training.

This new feature is similar to Super Training but in Hyper Training, trainers can raise their Pokémon’s stats when they hit level 100, when their stats no longer rise. This is the first time this has been allowed in the Pokémon series and can change how players train.

To use Hyper Training in Sun and Moon , trainers will need to collect Bottle Caps that they’ll find on their adventures and give them to My Hyper, a man who will help you Hyper Train.

Magearna, the new Mythical Pokémon will be holding a Bottle Cap when it’s made available so trainers will have a starting point.

The particulars of Hyper Training are still a mystery, but we’ll learn more as we get closer to the November release date or when the games are released.

We also get a nifty new interface to see the EV progress for your Pokémon. You’ll see the actual numbers for each of your Pokémon’s stats.
