The Pokémon Go Equinox event will start this Friday
The Pokémon Go Equinox event will start this Friday Niantic

Pokémon Go’s next event starts at the end of the week, and we know what Master Trainers can expect to find while exploring neighborhoods. This information comes from the official Pokémon Go website.

The Equinox event will officially kick off on Sept. 22 at 4 p.m. EDT and run until 4 p.m. EDT on Oct. 2. While there aren’t going to be any special types of Pokémon popping up like in past Pokémon Go events, there will be plenty of goodies to collect and incentives to evolve any Pokémon you haven’t yet.

Catching or hatching any Pokémon will earn trainers double the Stardust. Speaking of hatching eggs, special 2 KM eggs available during the Equinox event will have an increased chance of hatching Chansey, Mareep, Larvitar and other rare Pokémon. If you don’t have one of these Pokémon, or its evolution, you’ll want to hatch as many 2 KM eggs as possible. Registering a new Pokémon to your Pokédex will earn a whopping triple the normal XP. This probably stacks with Lucky Eggs, so make sure you use a Lucky Egg when you’re about to hatch some eggs.

If you have some extra coins to spend, the in-game shop will feature special bundle boxes with items like Lucky Eggs, Lure Modules and the long-rumored Super Incubators. These incubators hatch eggs 1.5 times faster than typical incubators, so make sure to get some of these to help hatch all those rare 2 KM eggs.

If you’re a Legendary Pokémon hunter, get ready for a new challenge. Raikou, Entei and Suicune will all travel to a different part of the world starting on Sept. 30. This means if you haven’t caught the Legendary Dog in your area right now, you better act fast!

Unfortunately, this event will not include the launch of the Gen 3 Pokémon dataminers recently found in the Pokémon Go code. Realistically, these new Pokémon will not released until 2018, but it’s possible we could be catching new pocket monsters by the end of the year.

So what do you think? Are you ready for the Equinox event in Pokémon Go? What do you hope the next event will be like? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
