The Pokémon Bank has yet to get the update that will allow trainers to transfer Pokémon from Gen 1 and from Gen 6 to Sun and Moon, but a new rumor suggests the popular mobile game, Pokémon Go, could also be linked to Sun and Moon.

According to Rei Kema and confirmed by Project Pokémon on Twitter, a new icon shows up for Pokémon transferred to Sun and Moon from an unknown location.

Here’s the tweet showing the mysterious new icon.

Of course, this is nowhere near confirmed as a mechanic when Pokémon Bank does finally update, but since the icon is found within the coding of the game it must mean something.

With the Red, Blue and Yellow versions released and gaining the GameBoy symbol when transferred to Sun and Moon, the only other game Pokémon Bank could possibly work with is Pokémon Go.

The Pokémon Company has already said that Pokémon Bank will work for the aforementioned RBY re-releases and the Gen 6 games, meaning the other previously released Pokémon games are not compatible with Pokémon Bank when transferring to Sun and Moon, even with the Pokémon Transporter.

As we approach the end of January, expect more news on Pokémon Bank to release when it finally updates.

In the meantime, let us know if you want to see Pokémon Go linked to Sun and Moon in the comments section below.
