It seems Nintendo and The Pokémon Company, in particular, are really looking to take over the mobile gaming space and The Pokémon Company has just revealed a brand new Pokémon mobile game based on the Rumble World series.

According to Serebii, PokéLand is the next installment of the Pokémon Rumble World franchise which lets players go to a new region to capture and fight with Pokémon tops.

There is an Alpha Test currently running in Japan until June 9 where players can find 134 different Pokémon, complete 52 stages and climb Champion Tower to 15 floors.

Like with many Alpha and Beta tests, the data from these tests will be deleted when the game comes out. PokéLand will release for both iOS and Android with an unknown release date.

Players who use their Nintendo Account can move stored data between devices and their Mii will appear.

New islands will unlock when players spend diamonds, which will likely be the in-game currency and what players can purchase using microtransactions. It hasn’t been revealed whether PokéLand will be free-to-play but all of The Pokémon Company’s mobile games have been, so it’s a safe bet that this will be.

PokéLand will need an online connection to play (sorry subway riders) and the game will use a special detector to find Pokémon, which can only be used once every 30 minutes.

Players can power up your Pokémon toys by using P and Gears obtained in the game.

It seems there are Pokémon mobile games coming out more and more frequently lately. The first being the puzzle game, Pokémon Shuffle which was first released on Nintendo 3DS and then the uber popular Pokémon Go that became a global phenomenon.

Pokémon Duel was a relatively recent addition to Pokémon mobile games that let players fight using Pokémon toys.

Magikarp Splash! was just released, which let players fish, train and battle using Magikarp. However, these fights aren’t normal Pokémon battles but instead a winner is determined by how high your Magikarp can jump.

Nintendo, on the other hand, has released the social app Miitomo , Super Mario Run, which you had to pay for, and Fire Emblem Heroes. An Animal Crossing mobile game is still in the works and is expected to release in 2017 with more mobile titles based on Nintendo IP coming soon.
