Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is slated to open at London’s Palace Theatre, focusing on Harry and Ginny’s youngest son, Albus Potter. Images of Harry (Jamie Parker), Ginny (Poppy Miller) and Albus (Sam Clemmett) were released and on Wednesday, images of Ron Weasley (Paul Thornley), Hermoine Granger (Noma Dumezweni) and Rose (Cherelle Skeete) in full costume were unveiled.

“It’s 19 years later when the play begins,” said Thornley to Pottermore. “Ron is married to Hermione Granger and they’re now the Granger-Weasleys. Our magnificent daughter Rose Granger-Weasley is about to start at Hogwarts, which is obviously a big day for everyone.”

What will Rose be like? “Rose is ambitious, obviously her mum is Hermione so she’s got a lot to live up to,” said Skeete to Pottermore. “I think they’re quite similar in the fact they put a lot of pressure on themselves. And she just wants to do the right thing.”

Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling echoes the sentiment that Rose will be similar to her mother. “Rose is like her mother, but more secure, more grounded,” said Rowling. “She was born to wizards and knows her place in the world. Cherrelle plays her perfectly: bossy but deeply loveable.”

The upcoming play picks up where readers left off in the epilogue of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows leaves off. “Readers and moviegoers last saw Harry waving off his children at Platform Nine and Three-Quarters, 19 years after the Battle of Hogwarts, in the epilogue to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child picks up after that moment,” said Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling on Pottermore.

There are two separate parts of the play "due to the epic nature of the story," says Rowling. "It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn't much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children," reads the summary. "While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places."
