Netflix released the Narcos Season 2 trailer on Facebook Thursday morning. The two-minute clip features a voiceover by Boyd Holbrook, who plays DEA Agent Steve Murphy, and Styx’s song 'Renegade' playing in the background.

According to the newly released promo, Moura will be back to play Escobar and Holbrook and Pedro Pascal will be reprising their roles as DEA agents Murphy and Javier Peña.

The first season of the critically acclaimed drama series introduced drug kingpin Pablo Escobar (Wagner Moura) and his thriving drug business. Narcos Season 1 showed 15 years of Escobar’s life, from his political endeavours to getting captured. By the finale of Season 1, Escobar escaped from prison and is on the run.

The Narcos Season 2 promo shows Escobar walking away from Colombian authorities who have tracked him and media covering his escape. “It was the biggest law enforcement blunder of all time,” says Murphy in the clip.

Narcos Season 2 will cover the hunt for Escobar and things will get very violent, the teaser reveals. The trailer ends with a scene suggesting Peña has been taken captive by Escobar’s men.

While Peña’s fate is in the air, Escobar’s story will definitely end with his death says Eric Newman, one of the two executive producers of the show.

“He will die,” said Newman in a Netflix panel, reports Slashfilm. “The design of the show is we told 15 years of history in season one. At the point of Escobar’s escape which is the summer of 1992, Escobar has 18 months to live. That’s not something we can change. To stretch that out beyond another season would be disingenuous of us. That story was always designed to have an ending.”

The Narcos Season 2 release date is Sept. 2. All 10 episodes will be available that day.
