N7 Day is here, so get ready for Mass Effect: Andromeda news BioWare

It’s N7 Day, which means Mass Effect: Andromeda news! Even better, BioWare has confirmed today’s celebrations will include more than just a short trailer.

To follow along with all the reveals and news, be sure to keep an eye on the official BioWare, EA and Mass Effect Twitter accounts. They will likely be tweeting out all the news as soon as it is announced.

While we don’t know for sure everything that will be announced, we do know there will be a trailer, news on the identity of the Asari from previous trailers, and possibly more. The biggest reveal that could happen would be a release date. Mass Effect: Andromeda will be coming in 2017, but we don’t know anything else officially. Given a leak on Amazon, it is possible we’ll be seeing a release in March, which would be a smart release time for EA. Mass Effect 3 was also released in March, so there is a precedent there.

What We Know So Far

While we don’t know much, we do have some information on what Mass Effect: Andromeda will be like. The main character’s last name will be Ryder (similar to how the previous Mass Effect games featured Shepard). We also know that Ryder will have a brother or sister, depending on which gender the player chooses to play as.

We also know that Mass Effect: Andromeda is set in the Andromeda Galaxy long after the events of the last Mass Effect game. The game will feature an open-world environment and will still retain the squad mechanics of previous games in the franchise. Confirmed teammates include an Asari, seen in a few trailers.

Instead of the Normandy, Ryder will be flying around in a ship called the Tempest. Ryder will be the child of an N7 veteran, so that might play into the plot at some point as well.
