What a glorious week it’s been for Star Wars fans. On Wednesday, Entertainment Weekly revealed a plethora of information pertaining to Star Wars: Rogue One for the magazine’s latest cover. It’s full of insight on Rogue One’s heroes, villains, technology and plot direction. We’re still trying to process the amount of details featured in the new spread, but one thing is clear: Star Wars: Rogue One has completely turned the ship following a disastrous PR period full of gossip and speculation.

Regardless of whether Rogue One must reshoot again, fans are anticipating the film’s arrival more than ever. Part of that is due to the presence of several familiar faces we’ll be introduced to again throughout Rogue One. We all know Darth Vader returns to the big screen in the peak of his power, but what about the lesser known figures? Remember Mon Mothma, the “mother of the rebellion” who delivered the famous “Many Bothans died to bring us this information” line in Return of the Jedi? She’s back too! And apparently, she’ll serve an emphasized role in Star Wars: Rogue One.

Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy spoke to EW for the latest reveal and delved into Mon Mothma’s role in the spin-off installment. Take a look at what she had to say:

We actually see quite a bit of her. The Rebel alliance is in disarray. Pretty panicked. Up against it. And she is trying the best she can to provide the leadership, in amongst a wide variety of Rebel soldiers that have very differing opinions as to what to do.

It sounds like Mon Mothma is in the position General Leia Organa takes in The Force Awakens years after Luke Skywalker destroys the Death Stars. Navigating the role was likely a challenge for actress Genevieve O’Reilly, but we’re hopeful she delivers in the most unique Star Wars film to date.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story arrives in theaters Dec. 16.
