‘Marvel’s The Inhumans’ Royal Family Character Breakdown Revealed

Black Bolt

We now officially know the focus of Marvel’s The Inhumans will be on the Royal Family. Set to start production in March, a source provided The Hashtag Show with a character breakdown whose descriptions and code names were fairly easy to match to Royal Family members. Below, we’ve matched each character profile with the best matching inhuman family member.

Black Bolt

King of the Inhumans, his voice is his power, both figuratively and literally. He’s very quiet and restrained because even speaking a single word can activate his sonic powers and destroy pretty much anything.

Black Bolt

[BRODERICK] Male. 30-40. Caucasian. Can say volumes with just a look. Strong, thoughtful and private, he’s unaccustomed to being questioned or feeling a need to answer to anyone, to an extent that can verge on arrogance. SERIES REGULAR, AEP.

The queen of the Inhumans, she can communicate telepathically with Black Bolt, which is helpful since he doesn’t talk much. But that’s not her inhuman ability. It’s actually her long red locks, which she can control to do whatever she wants. It’s odd the description doesn’t mention she’s Crystal’s sister.

[MARJORIE] Female. 30-40. Caucasian. An elegant and intelligent advisor to her husband, she struggles to find her place outside of their relationship, as others tend to view her as just a pretty face. Strong and resourceful, she’s not afraid to break the rules when the situation demands it. SERIES REGULAR, AEP.

Black Bolt’s brother is a master of deception. His psionic abilities allow him quite a dangerous way with words.

[MARTY] Male. 30-40. Caucasian. Broderick’s younger brother; he is intelligent, charming and articulate. He comes across as a man of the people but secretly covets power. SERIES REGULAR, AEP.

Black Bolt’s cousin is a martial art master. He was not exposed to the terrigen mist, but has the extrasensory ability to see flaws -- in humans and inanimate objects. He’s so precise and highly trained, and has complete control over his body’s inherent functions.

Karnak is kind of like Batman, he has no inhuman abilities but his devotion to martial arts gives him extreme self control, rivaling the supernatural powers of his relatives. Photo: Marvel

[KEVIN] Male. 30-40. Open. Slight of build, his mind is his greatest asset. Always prepared with a plan, his outlook on life is the glass is always half-empty and often cracked and dirty as well. Though his outlook can be grim he has a droll, dry sense of humor. SERIES REGULAR, AEP.

Another one of Black Bolt’s cousins, he’s the brawn of the family, with super strength and hooved legs that send shockwaves through the ground.

[GRADY] Male. 25-35. Open. Impetuous and brash, he has serious impulse control issues which frequently get him into trouble, whether it’s women, booze or fighting. He loves life and lives in the moment for better or worse. SERIES REGULAR, AEP.

Medusa’s younger sister is pretty much like Avatar. She can control all four elements -- air, earth, fire and water. She’s the youngest, but may prove to be the most powerful.

[CHRISTINE] Female. 18-25 to play 18. Caucasian. Soulful but still learning the ways of the world, she has the arrogance of youth. Impetuous and independent, she is also deeply devoted to her family. SERIES REGULAR, AEP.

Karnak’s brother (and Black Bolt’s cousin), he has the physiology of a fish. He has superhuman speed, strength and agility underwater.

[TIMOTHY] Male. 25-35. Open. SFXMU required. Supremely athletic. The ultimate picture of cool. He’s calm under pressure and willing to do anything to get the job done.

The Inhumans is expected to arrive in IMAX theaters on Labor Day 2017, and premiere on ABC later in September.
