GameStop has just revealed a Mario Kart 8 Deluxe bundle for the Nintendo Switch, which includes a console, two games and extra goodies. The only problem is the bundle is, at best, the same price you’d be getting everything for anyway. If you shop outside of GameStop, it’s actually even more than what you’d be paying.

On the GameStop website, the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Switch bundle is listed at $499.99. This includes a Nintendo Switch console, a copy of both Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the Breath of the Wild season pass and a 128GB memory card to use for external storage.

Breaking that down, that’s $300 for a Switch, $120 for both games, $60 for a 128GB memory card and $20 for the Zelda season pass. That’s the same price you’d pay if you bought everything separately. I thought bundles were supposed to give you some kind of deal?

Even worse, GameStop has inflated the price of the memory card. If you look on Amazon, you can find the exact same memory card for $44.99. Buying everything separately, and outside of GameStop, will actually save you $15 compared to the bundle. I suppose the GameStop bundle does have the added benefit of including everything in one purchase, but it’s definitely something to keep your mind on when looking to get a Nintendo Switch.

So what do you think? Are you going to get one of these GameStop bundles for yourself? Do you wish there had been an option like this back when the Switch was released? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
