LEGO Dimensions keeps growing, with a new level pack featuring The Goonies coming this May. TT Games gave iDigitalTimes a tour of the new level, and even hinted at what is coming in the future for LEGO Dimensions.

The Goonies level pack comes with a Sloth minifigure, a ‘One-Eyed’ Willie pirate ship and a Skeleton Organ item. It also unlocks the Goonies level, which is essentially like playing through the movie. After a quick introduction cutscene, gameplay starts with Chunk first meeting Sloth in the basement of the restaurant.

While Sloth is the only Goonie to get the minifigure treatment for LEGO Dimensions, players can still swap freely between all of the characters like Mikey, Data and the rest of the gang. Each character also has a special ability, so jumping between the characters can sometimes be necessary to move on in the level.

One of the coolest parts of The Goonies level pack is TT Games managed to include a scene that was cut from the movie. After the kids get off the Inferno, they are attacked by a giant octopus. In the movie, the octopus is scared off because it gets a tape player jammed in its mouth. Yeah, sometimes movie scenes are cut for the right reasons.

Despite LEGO Dimensions being aimed at younger gamers, this level pack really feels like it is targeting parents and older gamers who want to relive the movies of their childhood. It also makes for a great way to introduce kids to The Goonies movie if they haven’t seen it yet, as it essentially allows you to play along with the plot of the film.

Because Sloth is the level pack’s minifigure, this means you can take him into all of the other LEGO Dimensions worlds as well. Sloth is a strong character, which means he can smash through objects that normal characters cannot break. If you’ve been stuck in a different level because you can’t smash through a door or gate or something, Sloth can help you out.

While talking about the future of LEGO Dimensions, TT Games reps confirmed two new Fun Packs will also be coming this May. The Fun Packs include a Harry Potter pack with Hermione Granger and a rideable Buckbeak and a LEGO City Undercover pack with Chase McCain and a helicopter. TT Games also confirmed more is coming later, including a Teen Titans Go set.
