Apple is working on how to fix the iPhone SE’s bluetooth connectivity issues. When paired with a vehicle or wireless headset, iPhone SE users are reporting interruptions during audio calls. Streaming music remains unaffected, but a smaller group of users are suffering from GPS voice navigation issues.

Apple has made it clear they are aware of the problem and working on a fix. MacRumors reports the overall consensus in the Apple Support Communities is that the iPhone SE’s Bluetooth produces “distorted, staticky, or inaudible phone calls.” The latest Apple software doesn't fix the problem, and the issues persist across all phone carrier models and car manufactures.

It is unclear at this time if the Bluetooth issues stem from a hardware or software problem. Many users in the forum s tried some basic troubleshooting methods--such as restoring the iPhone SE to original settings, re-pairing bluetooth devices, changing SIM cards, and double-checking network and cellular data settings--with no success. Customers also tested paring the iPhone SE with multiple different vehicles.

User Ross_H_D , who has been working with a “high level” team member, is confident Apple is working on a fix.

I have been working with a high level support person who has assured me he is working directly with engineering. Apple has very much become engaged in this issue. They have had me do extensive testing of various conditions in order to document and troubleshoot...It was conveyed to me that this has become a very real issue internally and resources are now committed to its resolution.

Apple has experienced similar Bluetooth issues with iPhones in the past, but has successfully fixed all problems with a swift software update.
