9to5Mac is reporting that two sources close to Apple have confirmed Apple’s intention of releasing a successor to the iPhone 5s this March. The new iPhone will be called the iPhone 5se. Apple

According to Mark Gurman of 9to5Mac, the sources came forward after a video allegedly showing the iPhone 5c’s spiritual successor — dubbed the iPhone 6c —made the rounds this week on the Internet.

That video however contained an iPhone model that looked suspiciously similar to the iPhone 6s, as Mac Rumors pointed out.

9to5Mac’s sources claim that that iPhone 5se will be announced at Apple’s March 2016 Event and subsequently released soon after, and is already in production at Apple’s suppliers facilities overseas.

9to5Mac’s sources also claim that the iPhone 5se will have the same camera set-up as the iPhone 6, with an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera, curved glass in the same style as the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s, support for Apple Pay, the ability to take Live Photos — so far only an iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus feature — and the A8 and M8 processor chips from the iPhone 6.

The iPhone 5se won’t be available in same plethora of colors as the iPhone 5c used to be, but it will allegedly be available in Rose Gold, Silver and Space Grey like the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. Cost-wise, 9to5Mac’s sources claim the iPhone 5se will replace the iPhone 5s price point , which currently costs $450 for the 16GB model and $499 for the 32GB model.

Apple could bump up the storage capacity of the iPhone 5se to either a 16GB model or a 64GB model, as previous rumors surrounding the iPhone 6c have suggested, but nobody quite knows for sure yet. However, Apple did stop offering a 32GB model with the iPhone 6, so the trend could continue.

Apple did not respond to a request for a comment regarding the iPhone 5se.
