The Atom was the first DLC character in Injustice 2 ’s Fighter Pack 3 and while fans got to see a glimpse of Ray Palmer in action, NetherRealm Studios finally released a proper gameplay trailer for the incredible shrinking man.
In Atom’s gameplay trailer, players get to see Ray Palmer’s various skills in real-time as well as some awesome looking combos.

The official Injustice 2 website gives the Atom’s bio within the Injustice universe and it’s similar to the proper Ryan Choi bio in the comics.
Physics prodigy Ryan Choi took on the mantle of the Atom when his mentor—and original Atom—Ray Palmer mysteriously disappeared. Now armed with quantum shrinking technology, Ryan will use the subatomic power of the quantum bio-belt to seek out his lost friend and further the fight for justice.
The Atom trailer also confirms Ray Palmer, the original Atom, is missing and not dead. At least that’s what Choi believes as Black Manta antagonizes the hero by saying he has Palmer’s corpse.
After the events of Identity Crisis in the comics, which saw Ray Palmer’s wife admit to murdering the wife of the Elongated Man, he shrunk himself and lived in the microverse for years without anyone knowing.
Ryan Choi takes on the mantle in his stead, joins the Justice League and becomes a great hero in his own right.
Choi is the first DLC character in Fighter Pack 3 for Injustice 2 with Enchantress (best known as the villain of the Suicide Squad film) and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. While the release date of Enchantress and the TMNT were not revealed, The Atom will be available to download in Injustice 2 starting Dec. 12. Enchantress and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles should drop in the beginning of 2018.
