HTC has already teased that its HTC 10 flagship will be announced on April 12 in a streaming launch on HTC.com, but recent reports indicate the device will be available for purchase just days after the official announcement.

Details recently surfaced on the website for Taiwanese retailer ePrice , indicating the HTC 10 will go on sale April 15. While this date is not confirmed, pundits also note this could be a release date specific to Taiwan, HTC’s native market. It is common for manufacturers to release devices in their primary market before any others.

While the U.S. often has to wait several weeks after the launch of an HTC device for it to hit stores, this isn’t always the case. Phandroid noted the HTC One M8 went on sale for Verizon the same day it was announced.

A speedy launch for the HTC 10 could be a good move for HTC, considering many of its high-end competitors are or will be on the market already by the time the HTC 10 is announced. These devices include the Samsung Galaxy S7, the LG G5 and the Xiaomi M5. Many manufacturers announced their devices in February.

The HTC 10 is rumored to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chip, a 5.15- inch display, 4GB RAM, a 12-megapixel rear camera, a 3,000mah battery and USB Type C. The handset is also expected to see major camera upgrades and the return of HTC’s Boomsound speakers.

Several recent leaks suggest the HTC 10 will have a design blended between HTC’s M series and the HTC One A9.
