In Homebound , players take on the role of an astronaut stranded in the isolation of deep space after a series of disastrous events, with only the ship’s AI to guide them. Once the ship starts hurtling towards Earth out of control, the player must try to make it out safely and as fast as they can.

Homebound features the following (via a press release):

  • VR Compatibility: Both HTC Vive and Oculus Rift support

  • Motion Controller/Gamepad/Mouse+Keyboard Support: Play however you like

  • 3 Beautiful Environments: Experience Deep Space, Earth's atmosphere & Earth

  • Intense Gameplay: Not for the faint-hearted, perfect for parties or a daring break from reality

  • Freeroam Mode: Fly around and explore the environments at your own pace

  • Built with Unreal Engine 4: VR has never been more beautiful

Quixel’s experience with computer graphics, as seen in The Jungle Book – as well as games like Battlefield, Destiny, Halo and more – have enabled them to create environments inspired by SpaceX’s Dragon module and the International Space Station.

Dare to walk where only astronauts have trod before you? Homebound hits both HTC Vive and Oculus via Steam on Feb. 16.
