Hitman Gets New Companion App; First Elusive Target Reactivated

Hitman is getting its first “new” Elusive Target in months, as part of IO Interactive’s celebration of the game’s recent Game of the Year upgrade, and fans finally received more information on the return of Hitman: The Complete First Season’s previous timed missions. The studio is also giving fans a new resource to keep tabs on the happenings in Agent 47’s world.

Technically, this week’s Elusive Target isn’t brand new content. though it will be new to many players, including anyone who joined the Hitman community when the project’s Game of the Year Edition debuted last week. This weekend, IO Interactive will reactivate the contract for The Forger, an Elusive Target who roams the Paris map. Players will have ten days, Nov. 17 - Nov. 27, to identify and neutralize the target. Those who’ve already completed (or failed) the mission won’t have a chance to complete it a second time. But part of the reason IO is bringing Elusive Targets back is because even the most dedicated Hitman fans probably missed at least one or two timed contracts (maybe more) during their first run.

The studio hasn’t published an official schedule for the remaining Elusive Targets; however, there is a way for fans to be quickly notified when each of the game’s heightened challenges are reactivated. The easiest way to keep tabs on the returning Elusive Targets is the new Hitman companion app. The software is currently available in the App Store and Google Play and notifies Hitman fans when new Elusive Target contracts are available. Players can also get details on the current target and even watch the introductory videos that play before each contract. It’s also safe to assume the studio will continue to update its blog when each target returns, as they did today for The Forger.

For more on the upcoming Elusive Target reactivations, check out the announcement trailer that debuted Friday morning. Then head down to the comments and let us know if you’re planning to revisit Hitman’s timed contracts or if you’ve already had your fill of the Elusive Target content.

Hitman: Game of the Year Edition is currently available on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
