Want to play a new board game, but don’t know what to get? Are you a fan of “crate” services where companies send you a box of assorted goodies every month or so? Sounds like you’d be interested in the new Hasbro Gaming Crate.

The Hasbro Gaming Crate is a new service that will ship three different games to subscribers once every three months. There will be two different crate subscription offers, and each will have its own unique theme.

The first crate is called the Family Crate. As you can probably guess by the name, the games in this crate will be appropriate for all ages. The first Family Crate theme is “Staycations” and will include the game Mask of the Pharaoh. This cooperative game mixes traditional board game elements with an added VR twist. The game includes a VR mask, so all you’ll need is a device that can run the Mask of the Pharaoh app to play.

The second crate is the Party Crate. This is aimed more at college-age and older adults and features mature games with NSFW content. The first Party Crate theme is “FOMO” and will include the game Speak Out - Joe Santagato Edition.

Both crates will also feature two additional games that haven’t been revealed yet.

“Delivered right to subscribers’ doorsteps, the Hasbro Gaming Crate subscription service makes it easy and convenient for families and fans to try new games,” said Jonathan Berkowitz, the senior vice president of marketing for Hasbro Gaming, in a press statement. “Whether you’re planning a game night at home with your kids, or out with a group of friends, we’re confident the games our experts have selected for each crate will provide plenty of fun, laughter and friendly competition.”

Both crates are priced at $49.99 plus shipping and are expected to ship in the early fall. Those who subscribe can cancel at any time. Unfortunately for international readers, the Hasbro Gaming Crate service is only available to United States residents at this time.

So what do you think? Are you interested in signing up for the Hasbro Gaming Crate service? Will you continue buying individual games that interest you? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
