Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is one of the most anticipated movies of 2017 and fans will get their money’s worth, as director James Gunn confirmed the sequel will have five post-credits scenes.

The social media savvy director took to Twitter to clarify reports of the number of post-credits scenes moviegoers should expect.

Five post-credits scenes in GotG Vol. 2 would easily make it the superhero film with the most post-credits scenes, by far, but Marvel Studios has featured multiple scenes as a movie finishes in the past, with one setting up future developments while the other is a comedic one-off scene.

The original Guardians of the Galaxy had one of these one-off scenes featuring Baby Groot dancing behind Drax’s back, while the original Avengers film had the hero group grabbing shawarma after the heated battle of New York.

With five post-credits scenes, it’s likely at least one will be played for comedic effect. However, the news that there will be a Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 with James Gunn in the director’s chair again may mean each of the five scenes will feature one of the core Guardians’ members and hint how their stories will bleed into the third movie.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will release in theaters on May 5.
What do you think the Guardians movie will show in its post-credits scene? Do you think Vol. 2 will be better than the first? Sound off in the comments section below.
