'Ghostbusters' Trailer 2: C'mon Guys, This Movie Isn't Going To Suck

The second Ghostbusters reboot (remake?) trailer is here and, guys, it’s not too bad. I mean, is it going to challenge for an Academy Award? Of course not, but neither will any of the comic book films or any other summer blockbusters. Ghostbusters should not be held to such standards, and it’s hard not to write off scating criticism of the first trailer as anything other than sexism.

The all-female gang of Ghostbusters are led by some of the funniest women in Hollywood. Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig are already certified movie stars, and they’re joined by two standout performers on Saturday Night Live -- Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon. There are some legitimately funny moments in this trailer, and I’m not going to try to convince you of it any further. Watch for yourself:

From the looks of this trailer, the new Ghostbusters seems more interested in retelling the original story, rather than building upon its predecessor. Of course, some elements have changed, and I’m not just talking about the lady cast. We also get our first glimpse at the film’s big-bad, a Stay Puft Marshmallow Man lookalike who goes by the name of Rowan.

Ladies, as if the new Ghostbusters movie couldn’t get any better for you guys -- there’s plenty of Chris Hemsworth in the new trailer as well.

What are your thoughts on the new Ghostbusters trailer? If you hate it, you’re a sexist! Just kidding. But really though.

Ghostbusters is directed by Paul Feig and arrives in theaters July 15.
