Lost? Use Your Map.

When you aren’t sure where you need to go or what you should even be doing, be sure you use the in-game map. You can highlight important landmarks or destinations to help you find collectibles, or pick the next mission to go on once you’ve completed one. Basically, the map is the best tool there is in Wildlands.

Playing Alone? Upgrade Sync Shot

Sync shot in Wildlands allows you to paint a target, enabling one of your AI squadmates to line up and take the shot for you. Upgrading allows you to highlight more targets, meaning you can simply peek your head out, pick three enemies, and wait for your teammates to do the dirty work. This tactic is especially helpful if you need to keep a target alive, allowing you to sneak in while all the guards go down around you.

Visit All ! Locations First

Once you get to a new region on the map, be sure to visit all of the ! locations as soon as possible. Usually these are quick interactions, with your player snapping a few pictures or hacking into a computer. These locations will reveal all of the weapon crates, accessory crates and other valuable information in a region. Once you know where everything is, collecting it all is much easier.

You’re Always Going To Want A Vehicle, Preferably A Helicopter

Getting from Point A to Point B kind of sucks in Wildlands. Driving doesn’t feel great, and distances are often way too far to run. Helicopters are definitely the best bet if you want to hop around quickly, and they are oddly plentiful. Find the nearest helicopter icon on your map and run over to get a lift into the skies.

The Drone Is Your Friend

The drone is basically cheating in Wildlands. The battery life and signal range right out of the gate is pretty great and with just a few upgrades, this device can discover every enemy in a nearby area. Pair the drone with Sync Shot, and Wildlands can practically play itself.

Resources Are The Key To Upgrades

While you obviously will need skill points to upgrade yourself in Wildlands, you’ll also need to make sure your recourse numbers are high enough. There are four different resource types: gas, comms, medicine and food. If you are low on one area, find a bonus mission for that resource type. These typically give a few thousand points of resources away as a reward.

Follow along with these steps and you’ll be sure to get off on the right foot with Ghost Recon Wildlands.
