If there’s one thing we are excited for in the Arrowverse this year, it’s the crossovers. As Stephen Amell has confirmed multiple times since the end of Arrow Season 4, there will be more crossovers this year than ever before. With four shows to work with, Greg Berlanti has his hands full. While the three-hour, four-way crossover between The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow , and Supergirl may be the most anticipated and impactful on all series as a whole, the musical crossover with just The Flash and Supergirl may prove to be the most entertaining, especially if there is an original song and dance sequence.

Indiewire caught up with Executive Producer Greg Berlanti, who confirmed the creative team is finished writing all the fall crossovers. Now, he’s working on the musical episode’s original score.

“But next week we’ll have to start talking about clearing music. I have a few ideas for tone and style in my head but we’re just starting to talk about what that can be,” Berlanti explained. “I do want to try and get an original piece of music written. As we make a deal on that we’ll probably make some announcements on the original songs.”

Last month, producer Todd Helbing expressed interested in a dance sequence as well. He even described his vision in detail.

“Listening to Joe as the lounge singer, singing, and to see Grant and he was karaoke-ing first season, and even watching Danielle, not being able to sing ... I'm just really excited, to be honest, to see how it all comes together," Helbing told IGN. "I know Greg [Berlanti] is very close to this story. He's been thinking about it -- I don't know how long, probably not just yesterday, you know what I'm saying? He's been percolating. Seeing Jesse sing, seeing Grant sing, it's just one of those -- like whoa, we can totally pull this off. I don't know why we wouldn't do this. Let's go for it. This year in general we're really swinging for the fences."

The Flash and Supergirl both have musically-inclined cast members, most notably Grant Gustin and Melissa Benoist, who’ve been part of the cast of Glee . Jeremy Jordan (who plays Winn on Supergirl ) and Jesse L Martin (who plays Joe West on The Flash ) have performed on Broadway. Australian artist Keiynan Lonsdale, who plays Kid Flash, is best known as a singer and dancer on the series Dance Academy . He also an aspiring vocalist best known for his covers on YouTube. He released his first single, ‘Higher,’ this year.

It remains to be seen which villain will drive the plot in the musical episode. Speculation points to Music Meister, a role taken by Neil Patrick Harris in a famous musical episode of Batman: The Brave and the Bold , ‘Mayhem of the Music Meister.”
