The Flash and Supergirl musical crossover sounded like a terrible idea... until I found out the episode may feature Music Meister, and there’s a possibility Neil Patrick Harris could reprise his role as the villain he voiced in ‘Mayhem of the Music Meister,’ an episode of Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

The Flash, Arrow, Legends and Supergirl writer Andrew Kreisberg spoke with Collider to share details about the two-part musical crossover episode expected mid-season.

“The musical will just be awesome. It’s gonna be fun. It’s funny, we have villains that can split the earth in half. We have villains that can run at the speed of light,” he said. “What’s so crazy about a villain that can make you think your friends are singing and dancing in front of you?”

A villain that can hypnotize you to believe everyone’s singing sounds really familiar. Music Meister is a villain who controls people through song. In the Batman: The Brave and the Bold episode ‘Mayhem of the Music Meister,’ he hypnotizes Black Canary, Green Arrow, Aquaman, Black Manta, Gorilla Grodd and Clock King in an effort to destroy the world. Of course Batman tries to stop him, and when Music Meister orders the group of heroes to attack, they do so singing and dancing in harmony. Take a look:

The Flash and Supergirl have musically-inclined cast members, most notably Grant Gustin and Melissa Benoist, who’ve both been a part of Glee. Jeremy Jordan (who plays Winn on Supergirl ) and Jesse L Martin (who plays Joe West on The Flash ) have performed on Broadway. Australian artist Keiynan Lonsdale, who plays Kid Flash, is best known as a singer and dancer on the series Dance Academy. He also released his first single, ‘Higher,’ this year.

Joss Whedon will direct the musical crossover. He’s already worked with Harris on the musical web series, Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog . Coincidence? Probably not. If anyone can help the CW pull this off, it’s NPH. As long as it’s not as corny as the first season of Supergirl , I won’t be disappointed.

Do you think the CW is in talks with Harris to play Music Meister? Let us know in the comments below!
