The Flash Season 4 premiere, “The Flash Reborn,” airs tonight on The CW at 8 p.m. and it’s safe to say the stakes are higher than ever. With Barry Allen screwing up the timeline and abusing his connection to the speed force, we are all ready for him to step up. It’s time for a more mature, adult hero who thinks through his decisions and acts assertively and confidently. Let Kid Flash screw up the timeline, at least. So without further ado, here are seven things we want to see happen in The Flash Season 4.

New Powers

The premiere episode is titled, “Reborn,” and I hope this means Barry has some newfound knowledge that translates into cool new abilities. Hopefully he’s faster than ever before, and his new wisdom allows him to harness his speed to do more mind-bending stuff from the comics and even things we’ve never seen before. I think the series should also explore how the superspeed affects his brain, such as his ability to fend off telepathy by letting his mind race.

More Vibing

Vibe is one of the coolest characters on the series, by far. Even though his powers are nearly limitless, he shows incredible restraint and ethics when it comes to using them. Now, with Gypsy and her father Breacher on the series, we need an episode jam packed with vibes.

Jokes From Barry

Barry needs a better sense of humor. In the first season, he was funny in the most nerdy, naive way. It was Cisco who brought the real humor to the series, but fans are hoping we can see Barry be the true jokester he is in the comics.

Wally!

More Wally! More Wally! Wally is The Flash to so many people, when will it be his time to shine? The kid barely gets any dialogue and never fights on his own. I want that true Flash-Kid Flash partnership. Barry needs to put more faith in Wally to take care of business instead of treating him like he’s still a newbie.

Killer Frost Arc

Caitlin Snow was an integral part of last season. She became an ally of Savitar and when the team finally figured out how to “cure” her powers, she decided it was time to go off on her own. Killer Frost has enough established story to have a show of her own, and it’s only right after four seasons as a main character that she get some serious screen time.

Green Arrow

I want to see Oliver Queen shoot Barry Allen with an arrow again, please! Bring Green Arrow to The Flash so Iris can drool over Ollie. A crossover between all four shows is great, but nothing beats that first Flash/Arrow introduction. Also, Barry could use some hand-to-hand combat training.

Less Iris & Barry Love Story

We get it, they love each other. But after seeing Iris die over and over again last season and Barry cry his eyes out every episode, I can’t bear another second of the same basic “I don’t know what I’d do without you” arc for another 22 episodes. Find a way to make this relationship fresh and mature. I want to see a thriving couple on The CW for once.
