Five Nights At Freddy’s 6 , or something like it, has seemingly been confirmed once more via a new listing on Scott Cawthon’s Voices page. The franchise creator has auditioned an Instructional Technician for his next game, and he sounds a lot like our old pal the Phone Guy.

Read the full character description below:

You are in in the role of a supervisor, leaving a monotonous, but firm, message for an employee on a tape recorder. You've recorded messages like this a hundred times before, so there is not much enthusiasm in your voice. However, coming from a position of management, the voice still needs to be clear and direct.

As those who follow the series will know, technicians like this have pretty much been a staple for the series from the start. The original Phone Guy, voiced by Cawthon himself, was more or less in the exact same position. He had been working at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza for quite some time, and you could tell that by the occasionally rehearsed tone he took on while reciting his warnings to players. The most animated he got was during Night 5, and we all know what happened during the Night 5 recording.

The major thing to take home, however, is that this description basically confirms a new Five Nights At Freddy’s game is in the works. After all, Scott wouldn’t be seeking a technician unless he were making another project focused on animatronics. While there’s some possibility this could be related to the game that was canceled in June, the job’s recent post date of Sept. 15 doesn’t leave too much room for that to be true. Cawthon appears to be working on something right now, so it’s time for fans to get hyped.

Despite canceling a Five Nights At Freddy’s game a few months back, talk of a new project resumed in August with the release of The Freddy Files guidebook. In its latter pages in a section called “What’s Next For FNaF,” Cawthon prominently featured an illustration with a brand new design for Baby. She’s got a massive claw-like arm and appears to be part of some kind of freak show. You can see the teaser image at the top of this page. Past teasers tell us that Baby was the focus of the canceled game, so maybe Cawthon has found a way to put a new spin on that scrapped idea.

As for the job itself, the actor seems to have enjoyed working with Scott. “I would work for you ANYTIME,” applicant Dave Steele wrote in his review, “fair rate, good instructions! Thank you!”

Scott Cawthon’s Voices page became a site of fan scrutiny prior to the release of Five Nights At Freddy’s: Sister Location last October. In the months leading up to launch, cyber sleuths encountered Cawthon’s Voices profile and a few sample recordings left by those involved with the game. Since Cawthon now knows his diehard followers are watching the domain, we expect this post is something he may have wanted those folks to see.

Five Nights At Freddy’s games are available now on PC and mobile devices.
