Five ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Reveals You Missed This Weekend

The new Avengers: Infinity War footage confirmed a lot of rumors and spoiled fans with a bunch of easter eggs, such as Iron Man’s new suit, the Infinity Stones, Thor’s mysterious new weapon and terrifying concept art of Thanos. Star-Lord from Guardians of the Galaxy and new recruit Spider-Man were both on set in Atlanta for the first day of production -- and in a really funny Facebook Live video with Iron Man.

Check out everything important you missed this weekend below.

Avengers: Infinity War First Look

Robert Downey Jr. Facebook Live

Tom Holland interviews Robert Downey Jr. about how Tony Stark has changed since the first Iron Man , and announces his official role in Infinity War. Chris Pratt pops in for a visit (in costume) at the end.

"I still fondly remember the Mark 42 from Iron Man 3,” Downey Jr. says when Holland asks him about his favorite Iron Man suit.

Avengers: Infinity War Concept Art

Concept art of Thor (with a new weapon?) and Rocket Raccoon offer our first look at the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy/Avengers team up. We’ll have to wait for Thor: Ragnarok to see why he’s not carrying his hammer in Avengers. There was no footage of Thanos in action, but these stills are scary enough.

As the Russos and Marvel Studios heads have said since Infinity War was first announced, the film will be “the culmination” of the Marvel Cinematic universe since Iron Man in 2008. That’s why they’ve brought in Thanos.

“How do you do that in a way that is unexpected that pits the Avengers against somebody who is more powerful than anybody they've faced and yet make them completely unprepared to face them? Well, you tear them apart, and that's why we did Civil War before Infinity War ,” Kevin Feige said in the teaser. “Thanos shows us why he's the biggest, the best, the baddest villain that we've ever had," Feige said. "And the most frightening villain that the Avengers have ever faced."

Iron Man’s New Suit

The first look footage shows Tony Stark standing in front of a new Iron Man suit. ComicBook.com notes the suits look different than the one Stark wears in the Spider-Man: Homecoming trailer, so it’s possible the upgrade happened during the time between the two films.

Avengers Infinity War Sequel

As we previously reported, Avengers: Infinity War was originally supposed to be a two-parter. In the featurette, the Russos are now saying even though Infinity War is its own film, it will be directly connected to the sequel.

"Because of what Marvel is, because of what they've done over the last ten years, these next two Avengers films will be an event like no one has ever seen on film before," Joe Russo said. That confirmation, of two films but one event, should put fans' minds at ease a bit.”
