Nintendo has announced a new game called Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE in its March 3 Nintendo Direct.

Described as a “deep RPG” for JRPG fans and developed by Atlus , the game has a poppy feel and the attractive Fire Emblem art style. Watch the trailer for Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE below:

“A sinister force from another dimension has invaded modern-day Tokyo, resulting in a fantastical barrage of style, fashion, music and, of course, danger. So play to your strengths in high-energy turn-based battles, then fuse items to craft powerful weapons and crush your foes,” stated Nintendo in a press release. “Around every corner you’ll find fan-service—including Fire Emblem references—original songs by Japanese entertainment giant Avex, dungeons themed after the entertainment industry and eye-catching music performances.”

The game features in-game music and commercials as well as new tracks from Avex, the company that backs some of the biggest pop stars in Japan. While I have my fingers crossed for intense rhythm game elements added to your typical JRPG experience, the musical elements don’t appear to affect the turn-based gameplay.

Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE will release with the original Japanese voice-overs intact, utilizing English subtitles rather than English audio. After all the furor over Fire Emblem Fates lacking the dual audio of Fire Emblem Awakening, it only seems right.

If the trailer reminds you an awful lot of Persona 4: Dancing All Night , well, that’s by design. While the IP is based off of both Fire Emblem and the Persona series, Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE is an entirely new game that combines elements of both to create something original and funky.

Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE (yes, those are the backwards initials for Shin Megami Tensei , the Japanese name for Persona ) will arrive in the States for Wii U on June 24.
